o-Cresol is a minor metabolite of toluene and serves for the assessment of an exposure to toluene, which is a frequently used solvent in glues, paints and thinners. In contrast to hippuric acid (see order no. 52000), which is the main metabolite of toluene, o-cresol is no physiological component of urine and therefore reflects the internal exposure towards the polllutant.Phenol is the main metabolite of benzene and is used for the assessment to benzene as well as to phenol itself.
The ClinTox® complete kit of RECIPE provides an excellent analytical sensitivity and enables a reliable biomonitoring of both analytes. The sample clean up is performed via solid phase extraction (SPE). |
